We are very proud to have facilitated the flooring for the entirety of this new-build library and affordable housing development in West Wickham. The architects and developers broke away from the standard cost-driven specification, instead, focusing on sustainable design whilst maintaining affordability.

This project is a mixed-use scheme that brings together high-quality public infrastructure with much-needed housing in the heart of the community.

The project transformed the existing library into a modern, multi-use facility featuring a striking new frontage and interiors. The upgraded building now includes bookable community and business lounge areas, expanded library spaces for adults and children, a new café, public toilets on each floor, and enhanced landscaping with a children’s play area.

The scheme has already received industry recognition, having been shortlisted for ‘Best Retrofit Project’ at the Building London Planning Awards.

Alongside the library refurbishment, the project is also delivering 26 new homes as part of the Bromley Homes for Bromley People programme. The homes help address local housing needs while contributing to the vibrancy and sustainability of the area.

This transformative project brings together community, culture, and high-quality homes with sustainability and longevity at its core.
